About

Thirty years experience in satellite and telecommunications. Currently a Sr Satellite Network Engineer for T-Mobile National Emergency Management where I have been for the past almost 18 years. Previous to this I spent 12 years in the Marine Corps with occupational specialties of cryptographic electronics maintenance, mobile satellite communications maintenance, fleet satellite communications maintenance, micro-miniature component and circuit card repair. My career in communications and electronics started back in 1992 when I joined the United States Marine Corps as an electronic communications cryptographic technician. I made a lateral move over to satellite communications technician in 1996 and remained there until I left the Marine Corps in 2004. During my 12 year tenure I was deployed to various locations around the world including Japan, Thailand, Korea, Egypt, Kuwait and Iraq. I did two tours in Iraq, Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003 and Operation Iraqi Freedom II in Fallujah in 2004 where I managed and supervised a specialized team of Marines responsible for maintaining several communications systems including secure/non-secure internet, telephone lines, and video teleconferencing equipment in a hostile environment. I joined Nextel in 2004 as a field tech in the San Diego area where my cellular network career got started. In 2006 I applied for, and was selected to be part of the Emergency Response Team for Nextel. I have remained a member of this specialized group since 2006, surviving the merger with Sprint and once again making it through the merger with T-Mobile where we are now part of the National Emergency Management Team. My knowledge of cellular communications networks has grown immensely during my almost 18 years in the industry. Being part of the EM team requires me to be well versed in all aspects of the T-Mobile network including but not limited to, transport/backhaul, RF, BTS, and switching/MMEs. We also provide satellite backhauled IP solutions to support all users, regardless of carrier, through a non-cellular communications capability that is deployable any where, any time. Having this skill set and the innate ability to perform at the highest level in the most austere environments makes me a successful member of the National EM team, and in turn makes T-Mobile even that much more successful during trying times such as major disasters. Specialties: Satellite Communications, IP Networking, RF Theory, Electronics Maintenance, RF Engineering, CDMA, LTE, 5G, WiFi Networks, Troubleshooting and Repair
