Experienced material chemist/surface scientist providing technical leadership in Liquid Impregnated Surfaces (LIS), Next Generation DNA/RNA Sequencing applications, DNA biosensors, microfluidics, polymer coatings, and printing inks. My expertise consists of strategies to control supramolecular assembly and molecular recognition at interfaces. I can adhere or repel molecules at surfaces depending on the application. I have developed novel coatings for packaging applications, optimized flowcell surface chemistry for sequencing applications, constructed polymeric and nanoparticle flavoenzyme model systems, stabilized alpha-chymotrypsin at the air-water interface and created nanoimprinted polymer templates for biosensor applications.
