Brian McDonie

Trombonist Brian McDonie is an experienced freelance musician who has played in a wide variety of musical settings, with many different ensembles. He has played in numerous musical settings, including the Scranton Brass Orchestra, Chester County Pops, Bloomington Symphony Orchestra, and Indiana University Symphonic Band. Brian can be heard on several CDs under both the MSR and Mark records labels. In addition to his trombone playing, he maintains an active teaching studio and works with musicians of all ages. A native of Lancaster, Pennsylvania, Brian is currently a graduate student at Indiana University Jacobs School of Music studying with Carl Lenthe. At Indiana, he plays in both large and small campus ensembles in addition to community ensembles, and also serves as the graduate assistant for the trombone studios. Prior to Indiana University, Brian earned a Bachelor of Science degree in music education and music performance from West Chester University, where he studied trombone with Haim Avitsur.
