About

Storytelling is how we help shape the world we want. At the Rhode Island Coalition Against Domestic Violence, a nonprofit nationally recognized for its award-winning strategic communications and media advocacy, I am fortunate to serve as the communications manager. Working closely with advocates and the RICADV's task force of survivors, SOAR (Sisters Overcoming Abusive Relationships), I am part of a coalition that uses an anti-oppression lens to inform all of our work - from media interviews and running public awareness campaigns to prevention strategies and legislative change - and keeps survivors at the heart of everything we do. Storytelling is a catalyst for change. We've seen how it has shaped the movement to end domestic violence and all forms of oppression, and we have more work to do. Through amplifying the voices of those most impacted, whether through print, news media, photos, video, or social media, stories reverberate and send ripples through our collective consciousness. If you can picture change, it is possible.
