Brooke Laing

I have worked as a lifeguard for 3 years at the West YMCA in Boise Idaho. I have been able to further my training and develop my skills during my current work experience by becoming a shift lead, or also known as a head lifeguard. I have responded to a variety of high-stress situations including, distressed and drowning swimmers, seizures, asthma attacks, acid reflux, shock, and enough nosebleeds to last a lifetime. During my time of working at Marco’s Pizza in Meridian Idaho, I have been able to deepen my customer service skills and learn how to handle busy a restaurant efficiently, to name a few things. Among developing skills that are beneficial to my future work experiences, I’ve learned how to make all specialty and customized pizzas along with sandwiches, salads and a variety of deserts. Maintain excellent customer service. Navigate monitors, online orders, and over the phone orders correctly. While working at the ropes course at Brigham Young University- Idaho, the experiences and skills I have learned there are irreplaceable. Some of my responsibilities there include, develop team work and team play by structuring and designing activities that teach and develop skills such as communication, conflict resolution, problem solving etc. That are necessary to work in groups and as part of a team. As well as, enhance the development and teaching of leadership skills, and promote personal and spiritual growth and change by meeting the three imperatives as outlined below
