Prior work includes over 11 years as a chemical design engineer at Black & Veatch and 7 years active military service in the United States Army. I am a Professional Engineering licensed in the State of Kansas and have a Bachelors degree in a Chemical Engineering from Kansas State University. My experience at Black & Veatch included the design, procurement, and installation of water treatment and chemical feed systems. Tasks included: • Design water treatment and chemical feed system designs based on contract requirements and applicable ASME code requirements. • Performing calculations, create drawings, develop equipment and valve lists, and writing system descriptions. • Purchase order development, bid review, and vendor selection. • Detailed review of vendor submittals for proper engineering design and that the vendor fulfilled the purchase order requirements. • Coordinating scope between multiple vendor supplied and internally designed systems. Simultaneously worked on multiple projects, with both identical and different phases of design going on at the same time. • Startup, operation and troubleshooting of analytical equipment. • Perform design optimization studies for clients and wrote technical reports identifying recommended changes, budgetary scope and capital costs. • Perform life safety, HAZOP, and general safety reviews for power plant design and plant operations. • Presented at technical conferences and in front of large (200+) groups. • Developed standardized calculations and white papers for internal use. • Performed analytical and statistical analysis of water quality data.
