*Practice Assessor*2:1 BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Former Staff Nurse at Broomfield hospital; developing skills in wound management, pre and post-operative care, which specialised in major reconstructive surgeries (breast, head & neck, trauma and burns). To further develop my skills, I moved onto community nursing, caring for a variety of individuals with a range of complex health and social care needs. As a community nurse, I have been able to broaden my knowledge of long-term conditions, palliative care and complex wound/leg ulcer management. I was the Palliative link nurse for the team, and have also taken an active role in promoting agile working within the community. Since working here, I have been able to complete my mentorship training, which has enhanced my ability to educate and motivate others. I have since taught the "Significant 7 training" for care homes within our and other areas, in order to detect and treat the early signs of deterioration and ultimately prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital. In 2019 I completed the "History Taking and Physical Examination" course with London Southbank University. This has enabled me to perform a full assessment on our patients, in order to provide potential diagnoses in a timely manner. This enhances the triage process, but also ensures that our service users are given the most appropriate treatment and care. In 2020 I will be commencing my district nursing specialist practitioner qualification; broadening my knowledge and skills in this area, to assist with the growing, complex needs of our community population. I am enthusiastic about education and continuing professional development. It is important to be able to support and encourage your team; I have been able to assist with leading and managing the team as a Band 6, supporting colleagues on a daily basis.
