I have approx. 30 years in the surveying and engineering industry. I have been able to built skills that help integrate survey data with design software's such as Civil 3D. I have become a CAD power user and now manage a staff of 10 CAD designers. Designing replacement water systems for a 48 million dollar CIP Program. This includes plan production for Civil, Surface Repair, Erosion & Sediment Control and Traffic Control. I also manage a survey group or 4 that are responsible for producing base maps for CIP Design and many other general survey projects. I have driven my current organization to the current edge of technology in both fields. I have brought digital scanning to the survey department, GPS networks, standard line work and mapping tools as well as digital scanning. I have built a CAD system that uses the most powerful aspects of Civil 3D to create integrated designs and capture associated data. I have participated in many leadership and supervision programs, Dale Carnegie, Manager Tools. I am responsible for performance management, policies, hiring, forecasting, planning and creating a vision for both of the groups I supervise. I am responsible for creating improve processes and productivity. I have developed a broad set of soft skills dealing with a very diverse group of people, trades and professionals. I am many times the link between the two that brings understanding to all.
