Carmen Bingham

Since 2000, I have worked in and with the Virginia state legislator. I have coordinated with various state agencies on constituent issues and policy development, working with mid-level to top executives to achieve the ultimate goal of making government policies work for the people it serves. The challenge has always been to find a way to make the square peg fit into the round hole before changing the size of the hole. Prior to my experience with the state legislature, I have had an array of experiences working as a director of a regional economic development non-profit, event planner, project management startup team member for a logistics company, coordinator for a pharmaceutical speakers circuit, communications director for a county comprehensive plan project, legal assistant, and administrative assistant for a county-wide education project. I have worked with people from all socio-economic backgrounds and find my greatest strength to be my genuine interest in helping people resolve their current problems. I recognize the importance of structure, but also see the need for flexibility within that structure to allow for adjustments when necessary. I pride myself on being able to see a common ground, and work hard to ensure that different views are heard in order to find the path forward.
