Carmen Hoo Jia Wen

Many people around me would describe me as an outgoing and energetic individual. Interacting with and understanding people has always been my passion and calling. I enjoy surrounding myself with people from different backgrounds to gain knowledge and experiences that are new to me. As an active member of the Singapore Red Cross Society and a Human Resource student, I often find myself around many personalities. In 2016, I was awarded the President Youth Award in recognition of my contributions and achievement within the Red Cross Movement. I have also gained experiences in interacting with children with special needs at AWWA and underprivileged children at Chiang Rai, Thailand. One of my most challenging yet rewarding experiences was my internship at Bethesda Care Center. I conducted activities for clients recovering from mental illnesses at the day activity centre and also interacted and conducted lessons for primary school children at Joy Connection. Through my internship, I learnt to work with a variety of people we can find in this society. With my experiences and knowledge, I aspire to work in the Human Resource Management field and explore different aspects of the HR functions.
