Carol has been contributing towards the progression of digital skills development and training, and has a clear and intentional narrative that strives to change the world through technology and skills development. Over the last 15 years, the tech savvy and confident skills development specialist has passionately led skills projects in Cybersecurity, Software Development, Computer Networking, and recently IoT, across Africa, Asia, and Europe. Understanding the industry’s landscape has enabled her to identify, seek and manage strategic and tactical alignment with other digital skills academies, institutions of higher learning and companies that prioritize tech skills development. An exceptional communicator Carol is a strong and persuasive business leader who can manage complex situations and build networks that positively contribute to business success and performance. Carol has diligently contributed to the development of content for South Africa’s 4IR emerging technologies skills programs through the MictSETA. She also served towards the Gauteng 4IR Growth and Digitalization Strategy. In recognition of her committed leadership and outstanding contributions, Carol was awarded Cisco’s Influential Women in Networking award in Sub-Saharan Africa in 2019. Typically one of her more prized awards as she is passionate about empowering women in STEM. In 2020, she was honoured with the Africa Hero award for the Africa Moves Ahead Campaign during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the same year, she was runner-up nominee for the Inspiring Fifty. Carol now serves on the Cisco Academy Advisory Board.
