I am excited about the new opportunity I have been given to work as an Escrow Closer with Spruce! I just started this new position and am looking forward to seeing what all I will be able to learn from it! Essentially, I will be helping borrowers close on their home loans by doing electronic closings! I’ll update more as I dive deeper in this role! I recently left the banking industry after 15 years and my job as a Mortgage Processor for the Mortgage Department at MCT Credit Union. There, I processed mortgage files by keeping an open line of communication with my Originator and each borrower. I ordered appraisals, title work, verification of employments, rent/mortgages, or deposit accounts. I obtained insurance policies, personal information needed to acquire the loan, and submitted all information to Underwriters. I worked conditions once we received results back from the Underwriting Dept. I prepared the legal request for our documents in the appropriate time frame. If the borrowers closed at a Title Company, I worked diligently with that title company to ensure they had everything they needed to proceed with the closing. I was also the Closer on In-House Home Equity loans or Home Improvement loans. I built and nurtured relationships with realtors, escrow closers and associates at title companies and other reputable businesses. However, I have a wide variety of experience in banking. Before I moved into Mortgage, I was a Member Service Representative. That position involved opening new accounts, account maintenance, handling debit card/credit card transactions including fraudulent transactions, processing wire transfers, being a back up the teller line, and consumer lending. I have also helped with two bank conversions. I am happily married to my husband, Derek and we have two children; a son, Jameson and a daughter, Makenna.
