Catherine Borse

I'm a WELL AP and Associate at Heta Architects specialising in Wellbeing Design. My remit is to ensure wellbeing is prioritised from the inception of the design process in all Heta projects, with the aim to mitigate the effects our built environment can have on health and wellbeing. Harnessing the principals of The WELL Building Standard and our own Heta Wellness Principals my approach to wellbeing design supports the physical, emotional and spiritual balance of the people using the spaces we create, enabling them, their buildings and communities to thrive. I communicate and manage our wellness offering and collaborate with clients to tailor their wellness design path. I have run my own Interior Design and Creative Consultancy Studio, driven by my belief in a holistic approach to design that places health, wellbeing and an eco-philosophy at the very centre of every design decision. My work has included consultancy for Liquid Interiors, in Hong Kong, a healthy and sustainable design studio. My earlier career took me from the world of Advertising then to Business Management for a specialist Sculpture Conservator and Royal Warrant Holder in London before my innate creative passions led me to train at the prestigious KLC School of Design. I gained a Professional Diploma in Interior Design with Honours in 2012 and quickly became Head of Interior Design at The Secret Drawer in Yorkshire. There I honed my skills as a designer and played a pivotal role in sales, strategic and logistical planning and client management. My passion is now Wellbeing Design because I believe it is at the forefront of a wider societal change towards a more responsible approach to our impact on people and planet.
