About
As a Helpdesk technician for the last 3 years with Atos (Xerox) my duties include responding to clients by way of tickets, phone calls, email, chat, remotely, walk-ins and desk side for PC issues. Daily duties can include: repair or install the builds on PC’s, troubleshoot issues, install software and hardware, deliver and setup desktops, inventory and ordering, installing and programing phones. Daily duties also involve Data Center chores: exchanging tapes and preparing them for offsite storage, maintenance and documentation daily to SharePoint sites, and acting as remote hands for server issues. I also use a MAC, iPhone and iPad personally. My current line of work (until 1/11/16) is as an Information Management Specialist (Desktop services technician) for Xerox at Mentor (Johnson & Johnson) in Goleta. Mentor has dropped from a high of approximately 320 employees in 2 buildings to currently the building is closed and the company has moved to Irvine. Atos (Xerox) doesn’t have any other positions available in the Santa Barbara area, so I have started to look for other employment. You will find my working background is varied and outside of IT before this last 3 years at Atos (Xerox). Computer technology was always a part of my work previously. Fixing my own PC and learning how to build my own websites as part of my job/business helped me get the job at Xerox. Previous positions/businesses included being a garden associate at Home Depot for a short time after I closed my catering business, meals4friends.com. A licensed landscaper, in landscaping for 11 years managing a local landscaping company, and owned my own company C2 Landscapes for part of that time. Owned EC Specialty foods in Missoula Montana, a food manufacturing company, taught Ceramics and Sculpture at Westmont College, and co-owned Alaskan Expeditions adventure ocean kayaking company and co-led excursions to Prince William Sound in Alaska, and Baja California.
