I’ve been working with words for 20 years – writing them, editing them, and making them easier to read on the page or screen. I am an experienced communications professional who lives by the tenet “don’t make me think.” (It’s not just for web usability!) Readers should easily understand what they are reading; they should not be slowed down, confused, or frustrated – or worse – forced to go elsewhere to find the information they need. Over the past two decades, I’ve worked in several communications roles where I’ve written website and marketing copy, presentations, speeches, training material, and procedures. I’ve copyedited everything from annual reports to articles on parenting to Excel documents. And I’ve managed both projects and teams along the way. I’ve recently completed a certificate in Digital Strategy & Communications Management, and I’m excited to combine new skills in audience engagement and online reputation management with my broad communications experience.
