Charles Byrd

Charles Byrd has over 24 years of experience in wired and wireless network design. For CNHI, he functions in Product Development for the Telematics/V2X group, and is tasked with developing scalable high speed communication systems for autonomous vehicles and fleets. Prior to his work with CNHI, Charles consulted private industry and governments to implement large scale wireless networks for public safety projects including cities of Atlanta, GA, Tampa, FL, Dallas, TX, Buffalo, NY, U.S. Air Force mobile radar, U.S. Naval Smart Grid, autonomous mining vehicles, above and below ground, and testing with NASCAR with high speed mobility mesh networks. Charles was also requested by name to design and manage the wireless security video network for the English Royal Wedding in 2018. Charles also held a full-time faculty position of Information Systems at Mercer University from 2003 -2009, where he published multiple papers on deploying and utilization of wireless networks. He has functioned as project manager and designer of projects for wired infrastructure and customized wireless network designs in both the U.S. And internationally. Charles holds a bachelor’s degree in Physics from the University of Georgia and a M.B.A. In Information Systems from Kennesaw State University.
