Chase Pitcock

I am currently a sophomore at Indiana University- Purdue University Indianapolis, pursuing my second degree. I currently have a bachelor’s degree in criminology/criminal justice and political science and am pursuing a degree in Psychology with aspirations of achieving a master’s degree and possibly doctorate in the future. My main interest in psychology is focused heavily on social psychology. Understanding how social factors influence one’s thoughts and behaviors is truly a passion of mine. There are many different aspects to consider on why someone behaves the way they do. With that being said, I aspire of working for an organization like the Department of Child Services. I chose this field because I am currently in law enforcement and realize one of the most underfunded and largest issues is having children act in a manner that their parents did without any guidance and become incarcerated themselves. Lowering recidivism rates is the ultimate goal. There are many young people would greatly benefit from this and be able to understand the actions of their parents were not appropriate and would not walk the same path, hopefully.
