This past September, PRH&TA organized great but eye opening tourism industry speakers during the convention held this 2014. Stateside tourism industry speakers delivered in following subjects : "The New Tourist" (which was covered in press by END tow days after), "Tourism Intelligence" (globally speaking), and "Marketing to Groups & Conventions" ( where we need to pay attention to follow-up and provide action). Take action is next step ASAP!. As part of RD team, in F&B within the hospitality industries, means focusing in the future (perhaps 1 year in advance) and plan action plans is best move. A few of us are payed to spend little time in research and have watched the rest of the world changing in this same move. Solutions already recommended be in place quick, specially in retraining staffers and executives, in middle management for all services promised to travellings guests in near future. Delivery to current clients is parctice, for what will come in next month and rest of the year! Visitors TODAY, are changing their needs and wants in vacations. It will continue to do so, in the coming two to five years. They want action NOW. New developement of active or paced activities and make us attrative, make them happen in Puerto Rico this winter, almost here. Wake up. Start the walk of small baby steps inmediately if only independently but responsibly. Keep growing with change to make the run. PR has to learn to tackle that "new tourist" to complete and compete in a fair "game" and "score" big, as part of the surrounding Caribbean team of nations all together, follow may perhaps be a clue! United we stand out, divided we may all fall, all together. To reach our goals as a matured collective basket of destinations of many flags and flavors in the region! Each Island may work in divided cultural tactics that make them unique, but all, should push for Caribbean Basin in strong selling strategies, like a football game to score goals big again.
