Cheryl Smith

Cheryl Smith grew up in suburban Pittsburgh and graduated from West Virginia University as a textiles and clothing major. She called Boston her home for three decades creating, and building technology startups and forgot all about fashion, retail merchandising, and design. In this time, Cheryl helped build eight startups from launch to revenue with a couple of IPO exits with one company still going strong since its inception in 1989. As a way to stay balanced, she has always had a house design, new home creation, interior, or renovation project woven into her life. In 2015 she co-founded Embue as the real estate tech sector emerged. Embue is a Boston based smart home automation company that serves the multifamily industry. Embue was her first professional experience directly involving the real estate industry, which was the path for her to become a residential real estate professional. Whether it is a legacy historic property, a ready-made, or a luxe-build, Cheryl brings care and skill to the realization of bringing the resources combined with creativity to bear to assist you in presenting your home as its best marketing self!Recharging time for Cheryl often a trip to a farmer field, or a farm market, fiddling with her patio plants, a garden tour, a historic site, and discovering eats and finds. She has a curiosity about the world, humans, and most things tech. She and has been involved in establishing and working in technology incubators in Boston, first as a scrappy startup kid to Senior Development Officer, and continues to help foster and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship.
