I am a determined, highly commercial Senior Executive with a 20+ year track record in the start-up and scale up phases of new ventures, operating at CEO, COO, CTO and CXO levels. In 2010, I was approached to co-found, set up and build a software offering for private brand product development for grocery retailers from scratch. Opal BPM is now a market leading global software and consultancy business relied upon by many household name multi-billion-dollar private brand owners and grocery retailers. My involvement was to architect, design and conceptualise the product vision including UI and UX. I developed the initial versions before setting up and building an offshore development team based in India with developers, QAs and 24/6 support operations. The business achieved formal ISO27001 accreditation in 2020 and from the outset, I ensured the business owned its entire IP estate. Today, we have operations in the UK, Asia and North America. My role as Product and Operations Director is to manage day to day operations in London and to oversee and provide ongoing support to multiple global customer facing leads and a large offshore team in India. Our clients include the largest and most successful food and general merchandise retail multiples globally. We have been proud to achieve zero customer churn in 10+ years. Prior to Opal BPM, I set up and ran a bespoke software development consultancy. My biggest project was to transform the way the UK magazine publishing sector operated. I designed, created proof of concept and launched an online web application which is still in high volume daily production use today for some of the most recognised publications globally. A little bit about me … I enjoy having a laugh, I like to see others shine, I am cool headed, and I challenge everything! What gets me excited is solving difficult problems and taking an idea to market, especially one that disrupts the status quo, while creating value for both customers and investors – managing the whole end to end process.
