I am a collaborative, team-focused engineer who uses customer-articulated insights to create novel, manufacturable solutions with project lead experiences ranging from early idea generation to launched products. I am a deeply knowledgeable expert of polymers, plastics, and patents who is also an enthusiastic, upbeat, and approachable educator with focus on development of products and team members. While I am a specialist in security document materials and features, I am also enough of a generalist to help with just about any plastic, coating, or film issue from product development to trouble-shooting. Accomplishments: - New products: Developed products that have achieved over $250MM in sales. - Education: Closely mentored over 120 students and taught several hundred in several different materials-based courses built mainly from my own experiences and research. - Depth: Significant hands-on experience with lab-, pilot-, and production-scale extrusion and coating equipment, including crafting processing and product standards after numerous designed experiments. - Breadth: Supported technologies ranging from security labels to medical devices to large-scale agricultural equipment. - Intellectual Property: Generated, supported, and defended dozens of patent filings. I have found that most of my success stems from working closely with a team of individuals, usually with diverse backgrounds and skills, by building trust and working hard to live up to my end of the bargain.
