Positive and holistic person-centred pro-active 'can do' approach using counselling skills and complementary therapy and advocating for my client group, which is older people with mental health problems. Believing that each individual holds the answer to their own problems, which simply needs to be released. I would love to be able to offer support to a small group of people with mental health problems for whom living alone is creating high levels of stress and anxiety, but for whom residential care is not needed - living in an extended family type setting, as I believe that social isolation is the leading cause of deterioration in mental health. I would like to see everyone offered psychology, counselling and complementary therapies rather than automatically offered medication only.
