Dr. Christian Rauch

Apart from watching Bayern München play, I spend most of my time as Associate Professor of Finance at American University of Sharjah. Prior to joining AUS, I was Barclays Fellow at Saïd Business School (Oxford University), Assistant Professor of Finance at Goethe University in Frankfurt/Germany, and co-founder of a B2B FinTech startup in London. My current research focuses on Private Equity, Venture Capital and Bank Risk Management. In the spirit of LinkedIn self-promotion, I happily list my publications at the bottom of this page for those interested. More easily digestible sound bites of my work, as published in various print media outlets, are also shown below. Next to my academic work, I have been involved in a number of regulatory and advisory projects, both in the area of banking regulation (e.g. Liikanen Group or the German Financial Market Stabilization Fund, SoFFin), and Venture Capital (e.g. Barclays UK Scale-Up Project). Beyond that, I try to be an active member of the Venture Capital industry, both as a founder and startup mentor.
