Christina Demott

I am a very energetic, outgoing, and dedicated individual who genuinely enjoys acquiring new skills and knowledge. My current goal is to make a permanent career change, and I am more than willing to face the challenges such a move entails. I began teaching with no experience and an entirely unrelated degree, but because of the constant effort I put into learning how to be the best I can, I have had 10 successful years as a teacher. Creating and preparing for lessons, maintaining organized and up to date performance records, and meeting regular deadlines for various documents are just a few of the regular responsibilities which helped me develop extensive administrative skills and an excellent attention to detail. Teaching has also honed my customer service skills. Parents can, understandably, be defensive and demanding when they are worried about their children, and I was responsible for addressing their concerns while remaining calm and polite. Furthermore, while discipline is an important factor in managing 30 or more energetic students who don’t necessarily want to be at school or complete work, capturing their interest and convincing them they should want to participate is more effective. During my leisure time, I enjoy reading and crafting- mostly paper crafts and sewing. I absolutely love animals, and have worked with or provided a home for all sorts of creatures from gerbils to horses and just about everything in between. I am very adventurous and take advantage of every opportunity presented to travel. I am up for just about anything, be it exploring museums, SCUBA diving, or just wandering about.
