As the chair of trustees I ensure that the scheme is administered in the interests of the members and in line with prevailing legislation, the trust deed & rules and relevant codes of practice.I also act as pensions manger.I have learned a lot about life over my career and always tried to put the people at the centre. They make the organisation – whatever that is.My most recent position combined Chair of Trustees and Pensions Manager for Borg Warner in the UK. I chaired two DB Pension Plans: £160m (1400 members) and £30m (250 members) as well as acting as lead contact for the DC arrangement and all benefits. I ensured that the schemes were administered in the interests of the members and in line with all current governance requirements and best practice. I managed relationships with investment, actuarial and admin service providers, delivering a major project to close a DB Plan to accrual. I worked on a number of key de-risking DB Journey Plan projects including Buy In, data cleanse, appointment of financial advisor and fiduciary manager selection. I was instrumental in the selection of a new DC provider (MasterTrust), responsible for all aspects of setting up the arrangement for smooth launch and driving member engagement, including auto-enrolment, as well as chairing the Governance Committee. My motivation always came from serving people, seeking to improve the outcomes and financial wellness of all company employees. Balancing the demands of all stakeholders, I was effective at working and communicating at all levels both internally and externally from employees/members, to Corporate officers, fellow Trustees and professional advisors in a number of locations in the UK, Europe and USA.I am proud of that achievement.I am a committed and organised team player with a calm demeanour. I have worked with many leading consultancies, holding them to task on delivering the high service I demanded.I have a lot to give and am seeking to use my skills in a capacity that delivers satisfaction to me and the organisation I might serve. A part or full time role would fit my lifestyle.Out of work I am a family focussed individual who enjoys walking, gardening, making my house a home, holidays in new locations and sharing times with friends, especially when eating out is involved (when possible!)
