I'm proud to lead the exceptional teams at Voya Investment Management. We are a multi-platform fund manager offering a broad range of fixed income capabilities, including our world-class senior bank loan team, an Alternatives business with a top-performing hedge fund, and our highly successful private equity team under the brand Pomona Capital. We have a strong-performing active-equity business and a multi-sector team, focusing on portable alpha, multi-sector solutions and target-date funds. We are uniquely positioned to meet the customized needs of clients in this ever-changing global environment. Our core values are stewardship and service. As such, meeting client objectives is job No. 1; that starts with delivering superior risk-adjusted investment returns, followed by a rigorous risk-management team partnership with clients and investors. I am an investor at heart and built a highly successful fixed-income business using a team approach. The attributes I bring to the CEO role are my love of people, my passion for investing with excellence, strategic thinking and the ability to hear the counsel of my teams and make the key decisions to continue to grow the success of Voya Investment Management and its products. On a personal note, I'm passionate about helping the weak and oppressed — to me, top of the list is the world's children. As such, I serve on UNICEF's southeast board. I'm also keenly aware of the challenges of loved ones with mental health issues and of women's rights in emerging countries; therefore, I serve on the board of counselors at the Carter Center, with a focus on first lady Rosalynn Carter's work on mental health and President Carter's work on global women's rights.
