Just trying to leave things a little better than how I found them. Because if I don't, who will? My earliest years were spent either outdoors or in a church, but nothing compared to serving others. My hands discovered how to build homes in Mexico, feed the homeless in downtown Atlanta, and help the rural poor of Appalachia. Music was my first love, so I moved to Nashville when I was 18 to study at the school ranked #1 for Music Business by TIME Magazine. My hands learned to create art that could inspire others, and a BBA taught me how to make a career of it. The spark for service reignited on a study abroad service trip to Africa with about 20 other students. We played with orphans in Botswana. We helped patients struggling with HIV/AIDS at a hospice near Cape Town. My hands spent the next year raising funds, returning to South Africa for three months, and teaching music to kids in one of the world’s poorest townships. I then thought I could start a nonprofit that brought music education to struggling kids who loved the arts. A few brilliant friends offered free help. But I wasn't ready, and the concept failed. My hands reached their limits; starting a nonprofit as a 21-yo entrepreneur was no easy feat. So I continued studying Journalism & Digital Studies in sunny Florida, because stories have the power to open eyes and inspire hearts to action. I wrote. I photographed. I published. And I began my career at a local marketing agency. There, my hands found creative ways to build a better community. And now I'm at a nonprofit on a mission for a healthier world. My hands do a lot of typing and clicking in the hopes of reaching YOUR hands through the screen in front of you right now. My task is to help folks enjoy a few more heartbeats in whatever way possible. And I’d love to work with you. The 14th Dalai Lama has called on us to start a revolution of love, compassion, and service to save the planet from self-destruction. Because if we don't do it, then who will?
