About

I have over 8 years of experience in anthropology/historical archaeology with a concentration in maritime sites and submerged cultural resources. My early work focused on the assessment and excavation of sixteenth century Spanish shipwrecks, civil war steamers, excursion/lumber industry vessels in the Florida Panhandle, and artifact conservation; whereas, my recent projects have included renewable/alternative energy development on the Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf and coastal restoration and gas and pipeline projects in the Gulf of Mexico. Furthermore, I have developed proposals, budgets, and project timelines for projects throughout the aforementioned regions. I am a Registered Professional Archaeologist, as well as a Qualified Marine Archaeologist - I have specialized training and experience in offshore remote sensing data acquisition and have processed and analyzed survey data collected with marine magnetometers, side scan sonars, sector scan sonars, sub-bottom profilers (shallow- and medium-penetration), and multibeam echo sounders. Additionally, I have experience in archaeological monitoring, laboratory sampling, and testing of geotechnical investigations and have worked in close coordination with the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, the United States Army Corp of Engineers, Tribal Historic Preservation Officers and Tribal Representatives, State Historic Preservation Offices, County Representatives, public outreach programs, and local civic organizations.Technical Certifications:• TDI Surface Supplied Diver, Tender, and Air Operator• AAUS Scientific Diver• SDI Dive Master• SDI Scientific Diver• NAUI Advanced Scuba Rescue• NAUI Advanced Open Water• SDI Nitrox Diver• PDIC Open Water• BOSIET with HUET and CA-EBS• TWIC• DAN Oxygen and First Aid• PEC Safety, SEMS II, Safe Gulf, Safe Land USA, and TRAP• USCG Seafarer Medical Certificate
