Ciaran Lougheed

After a 27 year career in advertising and sales management I decided on a career change and followed a passion supporting people living with mental illness, helping them on their recovery journey. The privileged opportunity to support individuals from all walks of life, cultures, young and old with a non-judgmental approach, educate mental health professionals and the wider community in relation to strategies for maintaining mental and physical well-being has been an immensely challenging and rewarding experience. I also volunteer as a community representative providing valuable insight into suicide prevention delivering practical preventative information to the wider community. Outside of my work responsibilities I am actively involved in the community in what has been a lifelong commitment to football. I am a coach, Technical Director and Junior Vice President at Sorrento Football Club - with responsibilities for providing development pathways to senior football for our junior players and coaches. Similar to my professional career my roles at the club are both challenging and rewarding. Having a positive impact on the development of young children's and teenagers lives plus growing the game of football is my motivation. I am also studying a Diploma of Counselling plus 3 Advanced Study Majors in 'Relationship and Conflict Resolution', 'Grief and Loss' and 'Workplace' counselling.
