Senior Financial Executive with over 25 years of progressive experience in accounting and financial management with a diverse background in global manufacturing. Executive experience in financial accounting, fraud analysis, strategic planning, internal controls, M&A initiatives, internal/external reporting, and forecasting/budgeting. As the Regional Chief Accounting Officer for Sims Metal Management, I direct all accounting operations for a large region covering California, Nevada, and Canada including $600M regional plant forecasting, budgeting, and comparative financials. I develop innovative financial strategies that increase cost savings and profitability. In addition, I serve on the Board of Directors for a nonprofit organization to support teen development in the local region. My service extends as the Treasurer where I present non-profit financial reporting and budgets to the Board of Directors. Some highlights of my career achievements are as follows: ► Performed Inventory analysis on $45M: shrinkage, fraud, and inventory control compliance ► Proven track record improving audit scores from failing (score 5) to excellent (score 1) ► Discovered $9.6M (6 cases) in fraud through analysis followed by investigations ► Successfully implemented initiatives for 2 years reducing operational and SG&A costs by $1.5M & $.09M. ► Reduced SADS (Serious Accounting Deficiencies) and improved audit scores from failing to excellent including improving score of 24 SADS to 0 after first year and up to present. ► Oversaw development of a flat-rate program for transportation dept that resulted in $1.2M savings.
