Clare Burns

Clare is a Deloitte Advisory Senior Consultant in Internal Audit with 4 years of experience focused on Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance / Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR), operational internal audits, and risk assessments / enterprise risk management activities across a diverse range of clients within the financial services industry – specifically, banking and insurance. She is also involved in SOC 1 (SSAE 18) reporting, where she oversees the day-to-day execution of SOC 1 work for the entire audit lifecycle (planning, execution, and reporting). When she is not auditing, Clare is involved in Deloitte’s Chicago office campus recruiting efforts, specifically with her alma mater, the University of Notre Dame. She also serves as an intern mentor and an onboarding advisor for new hire employees. Clare is also involved in Deloitte’s Agile Internal Audit initiative, where she facilitates client trainings, leadership workshops and lab experiences, and internal bootcamp trainings on how internal audit teams can be better, faster, and happier by working in an Agile way.
