I'm very curious about how our minds work and why we think, feel, and act the way we do. I mean..- Why are we so obsessed with Trader Joe's? What kinds of human desires does it tap into?- What makes us more susceptible to persuasion?- Why are some products more desirable than others when they pretty much do the same thing (Tylenol, Lysol, S.Pellegrino vs generic brand)?- Why do we buy tons of things that we don't even need?- Why do we feel the urge to reach for that 300-calorie, 36g-of-sugar chocolate bar instead of some organic roasted almonds after scrolling through Instagram?I enjoy studying the human mind and behavior because it enables me to understand people, myself, and the world better and use this knowledge to help people more profoundly and effectively. Science has given me the knowledge and tools to conduct research, test out different theories, and learn something new and valuable in the process. But I want to do more than science. I want to apply these findings to our everyday lives.That's why I want to be at the intersection of science and technology — science with its rigor and inquisitiveness combined with the disruptive, fast-paced, dynamic world of technology. Using my understanding of science, people, and technology, I want to build effective, meaningful, and enjoyable experiences in technology that embrace our perfectly imperfect humanness and make technology more human.
