Clayton Lau

I began my career in sales at bearing and gear manufacturing and repair companies. Since bearings and gears are present in most rotating equipment, it was a good foundation - and a natural transition to move on to rotating equipment repair shops. I believe all good sales and marketing people are natural born entrepreneurs. By the time I went to work for HDS in 1999, first as Sales Manager and then later as General Manager, I decided it was time for me to spread my entrepreneurial wings. In December of 2001, I acquired ownership of HDS from Allis Chalmers Corp. Since then, I have developed a corporate culture that is 100% customer focused. It is always our goal to provide a rotating equipment repair solution that is not only cost effective, but that delivers optimum performance after the equipment is returned to service.In 2008, my son Luke, a UT chemical engineering graduate with an MBA who started his career at Exxon Mobil in Beaumont, came to work for HDS and is currently our GM. It's a pleasure to watch the new ideas and passion he infuses into the business, giving me more time to focus on mentoring the sales staff, further deepening customer relationships, and developing marketing strategies.
