Cordilia James

Born and raised in Macon, Georgia, I'm a passionate storyteller with skills in reporting, editing and digital production. My coverage experience ranges from daily local news hits to national features on personal technology, real estate, lifestyle, health and culture. You can find my most recent work in The Wall Street Journal. Previously, I was a reporter covering residential real estate at The Real Deal. Prior to that, I freelanced for publications including The Washington Post, National Geographic and People, participated in The New York Times Student Journalism Institute, interned on The Wall Street Journal's Life & Arts team and participated in the Online News Association's Student Newsroom and Innovation Lab. I also worked as a full-time digital content producer at NBC Washington in 2019 before graduating with my BA in journalism from American University's School of Communication with a minor in creative writing. As a student, I interned in various newsrooms, including The Telegraph and DCist at WAMU 88.5, and was the Life managing editor for the university's award-winning student newspaper, where I spearheaded two multimedia micro-sites and a bi-weekly series about sustainability on college campuses.
