Cyntia Duval

I did my undergrad in Biochemistry at Université de Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada in the COOP program that gave me the opportunity to do four paid internships of four months each. During those internships, I discovered the field of reproduction and I decided to pursue my graduated studies at the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Center. My main research project aimed to investigate the role of inflammation in pregnancy complications including preterm birth and preeclampsia. During my Ph.D, I was very implicated in my institution, while being teaching assistant at my university and supervising students. After the completion of my PhD, I decided to join a fertility clinic to increase my knowledge and expertise in human reproduction, especially early embryo development and male infertility. My time in the clinic allowed me to build up a research department with different research axes and to create new innovative projects while mentoring students. After one year and half, I decided to work toward the goal of having my own lab one day, and I reached out to do a postdoctoral research fellowship at CReATe Fertility Center associated with the University of Toronto where I work principally on the multiomic impact of THC on oocyte maturation.
