Damian Hull has nearly 30 years police experience and retired from the City of Romulus Police Department in 2022 with the rank of Captain. Damian also served with the Saginaw Police Department, Madison Heights Police Department prior to joining Romulus PD in 1997. During his career, Damian has served as a Patrol Officer, Defensive Tactics Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Patrol Rifle Instructor, Crime Prevention Instructor, Mountain Bike Patrol Officer, Field Training Officer and Evidence Technician. Additionally, Damian spent (5) five years undercover investigating international drug trafficking while assigned to the Federal Bureau of Investigation – C.H.I.E.F. Task Force. After returning from his assignment, Damian was promoted to Sergeant in 2010, Lieutenant in 2012 and Captain in 2021. Captain Hull is a 2015 graduate of the Eastern Michigan University’s Police Staff and Command School of Executive Leadership. Additionally, in 2017 Damian completed the Michigan Association of Chiefs of Police New Chief and Police Executive School. Before retiring in 2022, Damian served as the Patrol Operations Captain overseeing the Uniformed Patrol Division of department. Additionally, Captain Hull was the Commander of the Romulus Police Honor Guard Unit and also has over (20) twenty years experience as an Evidence Technician and previously supervised the Evidence Tech Unit.For two years, Damian served as the department's Accreditation Manager and was able to oversee the process, in which the Romulus Police Department was awarded full Accreditation status with the Michigan Law Enforcement Accreditation Commission (MLEAC) in October 2021. Additionally, Damian has several years experience in grant writing and allocation of grant funds.Damian is a graduate of Siena Heights University, with a Bachelor's Degree in Public Safety Studies and holds a Masters Degree in Public Administration and Policy from the University of Michigan. Following his retirement in 2022, Damian began working at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan as part of the Corporate Financial Investigations team, and is responsible for investigating fraud, waste, and abuse involving healthcare insurance.
