Damon Brown, PG

Damon is a Senior Managing Principal at Stantec and is the Business Center Operations Leader for both Environmental Services as well as Transportation Infrastructure in the Mountain Region (encompassing NV, ID, MT, UT, AZ, CO, NM, & WY). His duties include management of the business operations for both of these groups ($33MM+ NR Annual) in the Mountain Region as well as the ongoing project management of multiple projects in UT and WY. His current focus is centered on the operational management of the two groups for Stantec. He joined Stantec with the acquisition of SECOR in 2008 where he was responsible for managing the northern California portfolio of projects for one of Stantec’s national retail petroleum clients. Prior to joining SECOR in 2004, Damon spent three years with a major US shipping company where he successfully managed a large staff and was responsible for the implementation of national, and international, shipment operations. During his career, Damon has acquired considerable knowledge of environmental regulations and management practices associated with petroleum hydrocarbon (and other contaminant) releases to soil, groundwater and the atmosphere. He has successfully managed hundreds of projects ranging from simple baseline site assessments to complex full-scale soil and groundwater remediation. He now focuses most of his efforts towards the bottom-line financial performance for the two Stantec groups he manages. Damon earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology (2004) from California State University–Chico and is fluent in Spanish. He is currently a registered and/or licensed Geologist in multiple states and has been involved in the development of regulatory guidelines and in the drafting of State policies pertaining to petroleum hydrocarbon releases in California. Born in Colorado and raised in Northern California, Damon is married and has three children. He has served in numerous capacities on community councils, youth recreation/mentoring programs and athletic associations.
