About
As an athlete and a naturally competitive person, I’ve always been driven to succeed—and for over 19 years I competed (and won) at the highest level of women’s swimming. I broke 6 world records, competed in 3 Olympics, and won 32 international medals. But during that time, I found myself getting out of balance. I became too focused on my training, which eventually led to burnout, overtraining, and missing the Olympic team in 2008. Something had to change. I took a long, hard look at my life and my priorities. I realized I needed to adjust my outlook. It wasn’t easy, but over time I learned how to take a more sustainable approach to success that allowed me to perform at an elite level for another 10 years, while living a more satisfying and well-rounded life. My passion had been elite-level competitive swimming and through that journey I’ve seen hundreds of incredible training facilities. Now at ELS architecture & Urban Design, I can combine that passion with my love of architecture to create facilities that have that wow factor, are earth-friendly, and inspire people to improve themselves through fitness and recreation. I also travel the world speaking to teams and organizations of all shapes and sizes. I'll teach your team the process I developed to help you and your team achieve more sustainable and meaningful success in your careers, relationships, and lives.
