About
July 2018, I started working for San Bernardino County Department of Public Health for the Local Oral Health Program (LOHP). I provide oral health education to at-risk and vulnerable populations within the county. We recently completed the County's first ever Oral Health Strategic Plan to improve the oral health of county residents. I am in my second year of the Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) program at Loma Linda University to study Health Education. I am also a Certified Health Education Specialist. In 2016 I graduated from California Baptist University (CBU) with a Master of Public Health with a concentration in Health Education and Promotion. While at CBU, I received training in planning, implementing, and evaluating health programs. I have experience in grant writing and am trained as a health and wellness coach. Also, I completed and successfully defended my thesis: The Influence of School Gardens on Preferences Towards and Consumption of Fruit and Vegetables in Elementary School Students: A Cross-Sectional Study.
