About
I am a soon-to-graduate experimental physicist with an interest in detector hardware and data analysis. During my graduate career, I have experience conducting research at Indiana University, Thomas Jefferson National Laboratory in Virginia, and Beijing, China. In addition to completing a degree's worth of physics courses at the Master's level, I have significant hardware and detector experience through my work on the GlueX project in Hall D of the Jefferson Lab Facility. It is there that I helped design, build, and test the Forward Calorimeter (FCAL), a 2800 element lead-glass photomultiplier detector, and an important component of the GlueX project, which started taking data in 2015. I am currently working on several analyses for the BESIII project, located at the Instutite for High Energy Physics (IHEP) in Beijing, China. In these studies, we select through the data of billions of electron-positron collisions and terabytes of detector events, in order to isolate specific physics processes. We then study these particle states and publish their properties as an ongoing effort to describe physics at a large range of scales and energy regimes. My current professional interests are detector hardware, software, and testing, and data analysis, as well as using my physics background to contribute in a unique way to these efforts. I am tentatively scheduled to graduate in Summer of 2016.
