About

Daniel Brashear is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (1-21-51171) living in Brooklyn, New York. Growing up an athlete with a passion for sports, Dan pursued a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sport Management with a minor in Psychology at Drexel University. During his time at Drexel, Dan completed an Internship in Dublin, Ireland where he gained valuable experience teaching sports to children in primary schools around Dublin. With a continued interest in working with children and having been a camp counselor for many summers growing up, Dan’s first job out of college was at the Big Apple Day Program (BADP). A day camp designed to improve social skills for children with learning difficulties so that they may be better prepared to make friendships in the coming school year. Following the summer at BADP, Dan utilized that experience to find work at the Brooklyn Autism Center (BAC). A school for children on the moderate to severe end of the autism spectrum, where he worked as an behavior instructor providing 1:1 ABA services to a wide range of students. During his time as a behavior instructor, Dan was inspired to learn more about the field that he felt passionate about. This led to the pursuit of a Master of Science Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis with a focus in Autism from The Sage Colleges. A degree earned in December of 2020. In July of 2021, Dan passed his BCBA exam and became a Board Certified Behavior Analyst. While at BAC, Dan gained valuable experience in a number of different areas. Working with the older population of students, Dan provided treatment in job training and vocational programming. As part of the after-school team, Dan implemented behavior plans catered toward peer socialization. As the cardio and fitness coordinator, Dan designed and implemented both group and individualized exercise programs to increase the overall health and wellness of the clients he served. Currently, Dan is happily providing in-home services for Manhattan Psychology Group. Dan continues to bring his interests in fitness and exercise to client programming to create a balanced approach to treatment with increased attention towards health and wellness. As he continues to grow and gain experience in the field, Dan hopes to further his knowledge and experience in the crossroads of exercise and autism. All in an effort to continue providing the highest quality care and attention to every client he serves.
