Passionate about systems strengthening through research and implementation of applicable solutions to issues of healthcare across Sub-Saharan Africa. Open to opportunities in biomedical research and in-host evolution studies of pathogens in at-risk populations. Research interest: Molecular Virology and Microbe-Host Interaction Research activities: I was a member of a research group, which looked at the occurrence of false-negative results amongst HIV-exposed infants, looking at certain drivers for mutations leading to higher transmission in the presence of maternal HIV antibodies. In contributing to the scope of our research, I developed a nef-based nucleic acid detection assay for pediatric HIV-1 diagnostics. I believe this assay would help combat the occurrence of false negatives and thereby reduce misdiagnosis during EID. Budding interest: In-Host pathogen evolution and Retroviral proteomics
