IT professional out of the loop for a long duration. Would like a chance to prove myself again if an employer is willing to offer an old mainframe veteran with over 20 years experience a chance. Will accept an entry level position. In 2008 I was casualty of the sub prime crisis and was laid off as an IBM mainframe computer operator at Bear Stearns. Currently I work for the East Windsor Regional school district as a school bus driver. At Bear Stearns I was responsible for supporting a 24 x 7 multi-Sysplex z9 processor z/OS 1.9 environment. Executed all mainframe infrastructure related tasks such as Sysplex real time exception monitoring. After major system product upgrades I performed environmental test scripts; performing analysis, fault isolation if any, and discuss with systems personnel if it should be a back out or proceed. In addition, after IPLs / POR it was my responsibility to perform a total network health check of the mainframe environment using network management tools to proactively troubleshoot potential problems and escalate as necessary.
