Before I stepped foot in a classroom, I came with a goal to empower students to have equal and equitable opportunities to take full advantage of their educations. I believe in empowering and supporting young minds as the develop social and political consciousnesses. My goal as an educator is to enable students to become inquisitive and solutions-oriented towards social issues, ultimately becoming advocates for themselves and their communities. Being an educator is hard work, but it is work worth doing. Being a first-generation college graduate, education has opened many doors for me, and I couldn't have done it without transformational teachers and administrators along the way. My goal is to be as impactful and influential to my students, as the educators in my life were to me.
