Danielle Brannock

Danielle is a data analyst and digital accelerator with extensive experience in automation, process excellence, and data analytics in the audit space. Danielle is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a B.S. In Accounting; a concentration in Forensic Accounting, Fraud Examination, and IT Auditing; and a coursework focus in Accounting Information Systems. They are currently pursuing a Master of Information Science from Boston University in Computer Science. Danielle also has a degree in paralegal studies including legal research and litigation support. Their combined experience in legal, accounting, and computer science allows them to work alongside various parts of the business to identify opportunities for process improvement, design complex analytics and automation workflows, and ensure proper consideration for cybersecurity and fraud risk, adequate documentation, and robust internal controls are included in all of their projects. Currently, Danielle is co-authoring the new Accounting Information Systems textbook published by Wiley. This first edition text brings a practitioner point of view to the AIS course. Danielle is the subject matter expert for systems, analytics, automation, and more, and Danielle uses their real-world experience to create applied learning cases for students that are designed after tasks or issues they encountered in the first five years of their career as an accounting professional. Danielle is also a public speaker who presents to college professors and students on topics such as soft skills to get you through the first year on the job, how data analytics and technology are transforming the accounting and finance industries, how auditors can combat black box analytics to ensure proper documentation, and why not all robots are the same - exploring the technical differences between automation and AI.
