About
Beginning in the grassroots politics of the Australian labour movement, I’m an international public affairs and government relations specialist. My work has taken me to the Philippines, Bangladesh, Uganda, Somalia, as regional government point for the UN in Thailand, and now Afghanistan. I have strong knowledge of—and substantive experience in—policy and legislative analysis, influencing and advocacy, reputation and incident management, multilateral cooperation and aid effectiveness, humanitarian and development financing, and navigating sanctions, foreign policy and aid portfolios, budgets, and regulatory frameworks. I have applied this across areas spanning the Sustainable Development Goals, climate change, and food security, to humanitarian access and sanctions and counterterrorism legislation, Pacific super-typhoon season, and the fastest growing refugee emergency in the world. A quick study and systems thinker, I'm tested across diverse socio-political and emergency contexts; scaling resources to over a billion dollars; advising senior UN executives on policy leadership and diplomatic outreach; providing forward support to strategic and operational planning; and, leveraging organisational strengths and mandates to advance—and navigate the complexities of—international cooperation.
