Danielle Raines

I am currently a Senior at Central Washington University completing my Bachelors of Science degree in Apparel Textiles and Merchandising. Before my two years at Central Washington University, I completed my Associate of Arts Degree in Merchandise Marketing at The Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising in Los Angeles, California. I have a great understanding of the retail environment as I have worked in retail for approximately two years. The courses that I have taken regarding fashion merchandising and design have helped me to gain understanding, when it comes to the business side of fashion as well as design. Courses such as business math, brand management, textile science, and retail evironment have all played a major role in gaining the knowledge I have now. The fashion industry is a big community with many opportunities to be successful in my particular field of interest. My ultimate goal is to be a personal stylist or a buyer for a boutique or department store. I plan to seek opportunities that will help me further my career in the fashion industry. Taking the opportunities that allow me to gain hands on experience in my field of interest and beyond is what I am striving for. Always keeping an open mind and allowing myself to discover and network with people within the fashion industry, is a major part of my success.
