Quitting my pursuit to be a professional skier as an 18 year old athlete is quite possibly the best career descision I’ve made in my lifetime so far. Yes, quitting sometimes is the best idea. Did it feel like failure? Yes it did for some time. It’s not the same thing as giving up though. Quitting is something you do when you see that what you’ve reached at that time is the highest achievable for you and there is no forecast. What did it bring me then? Ever since I quit I made a choice to help others become as successful as they possibly can. I had the fortune of having the example of some very good coaches. So, I became a tenniscoach and helped young players all over the world to achieve their best and be able to make choices. I became a consultant to sales- and marketingprofessionals in the largest IT companies (Microsoft, SAP, IBM) in the world. I made software to measure employee happiness and satisfaction (Trindle) and now I am combining technologie and RX design in order to help C-suite executives to incorporate wellbeing to achieve the best results possible Relational and Financial. I wouldn’t have been where I am today if I did not quit being an athlete.
