Dave Burdick

My experience has been nothing if not varied. At times (sometimes in the same day) I have been a writer, designer, programmer, marketer and teacher. After studying at the Institute of Design at IIT, I worked at a variety of agencies in Chicago as a designer, eventually winding up at Stryker Corporation in Kalamazoo, MI as Director of Corporate Communications. I, working with our agency, was responsible for developing the graphic standards that are, to a large extent, still in use 25 years later. At Topin and Associates in Chicago, I was Creative Director and worked on a variety of accounts including medical device, healthcare delivery and pharmaceutical companies. At Lukens-Burdick Creative which eventually became Slant Communications, I worked with a variety of larger pharmaceutical agencies as well as smaller specialty agencies and directly with clients such as Searle, American Society of Clinical Pathologists, Allscripts, Health Alliance and Sheffield Pharma. In 2002 the company moved to Douglas, MI where I have continued to serve our medical and healthcare clients as well as expanding into several other markets including building, real estate, business and financial services and consumer products. I also taught Design at University of Illinois at Chicago and have a B.Ph. In History from Northwestern University.
