Dave West

Dave West is an information security professional with over fifteen years of combined professional experience in information technology, web application development, and information security. A veteran of the United States Navy, Mr. West spent the early years of his civilian career architecting high availability Linux solutions for a wide range of hosting clients. Once transitioning to web application development, he led a startup team that designed and delivered a mobile web application that is currently in use by some of the top real estate agencies and associations in the US. In his most recent role, Dave led a team of information security engineers at a Fortune 500 financial institution where his focus was web application security assessments, securing internet-of-things devices, vulnerability management, and networking penetration testing. His background in information security and web application development allowed him to work hand in hand with the agile development teams to begin the adoption of a secure development operations (SECDEVOPS) platform to foster secure coding practices and reduce the overall time to production for corporate applications. His diverse skill set results in a well-rounded, knowledgeable information security consultant with a unique insight into how web application work in modern environments. Dave currently holds the Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP) industry certification.
